Raised Earth Ranch
Perched on the edge of an alpine mesa, the Raised Earth project sculpts the land featuring berms and architectural forms that emerge from the hillside, raising the earth and allowing occupation of the space between the ground and sky.
The landscape embraces panoramic views spanning the entire Wilson Range of Colorado over mature aspen groves, mesas, ponds and canyons. An existing historic ranching pond will be reconfigured to stimulate water movement with a stream, waterfall and natural riparian plantings. Biodiverse gardens with native alpine perennial plantings integrate and intensify the existing meadow grasslands, blending seamlessly into the existing context.
