Hayden Ranch Historic Preservation Plan
The Hayden Ranch Historic Preservation Assessment Plan is a collaboration with Shape Architects, Colorado Mountain College, Form + Works Architects and the Colorado Historical Foundation offers an opportunity to expand access to a beautiful natural resource and preserve a piece of Leadville’s history.
The Hayden Ranch has incredible potential to be a resource of great public value. The 35-acre ranch headquarters, with sixteen buildings constructed between 1880 and 1930, is on the National Register of Historic Places, designating it as a cultural asset and natural resource in the surrounding rich and varied ecosystem to be enjoyed in perpetuity for generations to come. This begins with a study of the possibilities for Hayden Ranch and Colorado Mountain College, to be shared with potential buyers to garner interest in undertaking the project.
With the project team, Superbloom conducted site analysis, historic evaluations, and interviews with local community members and potential partners to develop a plan informed by the historic context. The plan merges this history with ideas for future uses to unleash the full potential of this property.
