Landscape Architecture

We are, first and foremost, landscape architects. Our work spans scales and geographies, taking as its primary aim the task of giving form to the future. It is inspired and informed by the profound intelligence of natural systems and the challenge of contributing boldly to the ecologies of public space through landscapes that engage and tell stories. Since 2021 we have applied these principles to public parks, wild landscapes, civic spaces, residences, farms, nature centers, schools, ranches, and greenways. Our practice is deeply rooted in science and in the realities of climate change and resources management.

Residential Garden Design

At SUPERBLOOM, we believe in the transformative power of nature to inspire thoughtful, beautiful landscapes. Our residential design services cater to homeowners looking to elevate their outdoor spaces—whether expansive gardens or intimate patios—into personal sanctuaries rooted in natural beauty. We offer a flexible approach, allowing you to choose from two tailored options: a streamlined design process for quicker transformations or a fully customizable experience crafted to resonate deeply with your unique vision. By limiting the number of projects we take on each year, we ensure every design receives our dedicated attention. Whether you’re seeking a simplified concept or a bespoke outdoor masterpiece, we’re here to bring your vision to life. Connect with us today to explore how we can transform your outdoor retreat.

Community Engagement

We believe that creating effective and celebrated public spaces starts with the public. Our work is informed by real need, determined and designed only after robust demographic research, community outreach, and engagement. This sounds academic, and it can be, but mostly it is about showing up in communities and creating spaces where people feel comfortable speaking openly. And then listening a lot. Our public meetings, design workshops, and charrettes are creative, fun, engaging ways to do what hours of research can’t: get people to tell us what they want and need so we can design something they’ll actually use.

Agriculture, Restoration and Conservation Design

Our ecological and restoration services range from regenerative agricultural design to restoration of culturally and historically-significant landscapes. We work with clients to enhance and restore biodiversity, support pollinators and other wildlife, to convert lawns to native meadow, and educate the public.

Yes! Superbloom was co-founded by and owned by Harvard GSD graduates Stacy Passmore and Diane Lipovsky, both licensed landscape architects.

At Superbloom, we incorporate sustainability into our designs by prioritizing ecological balance and resource efficiency. We often choose native and drought-resistant plants to create beautiful landscapes that thrive with minimal irrigation. Additionally, we design rainwater harvesting systems, allowing homeowners to collect and use rainwater for irrigation.

We also focus on soil health by enriching it with organic materials, which promotes robust plant growth and reduces reliance on chemical fertilizers. Using permeable materials for surfaces is another strategy we employ, enabling rainwater to infiltrate the ground and support groundwater recharge.

Features like green roofs and walls are integral to our approach, helping insulate buildings while managing stormwater and providing habitat for wildlife. Through these thoughtful strategies, we create vibrant, resilient outdoor spaces that benefit both people and the environment.
