Coyote Ridge Open Space Master Plan
A Collective Community Vision
A significant open space parcel recently unified under single ownership and management, a comprehensive plan for Coyote Ridge will provide invaluable community benefit. Building on previous planning work, the Town of Superior is embarking on a nine-month process to connect with thousands of community members who can come together both in person and virtually at public meetings, outdoor walks and rambles, educational seminars to collaborate and craft a collective vision for Coyote Ridge. This process can identify open space wide principles and overall frameworks while balancing natural, connected and active elements.
A Connected Landscape
To improve the immediate neighborhood’s connectivity, but also expand access to all residents of the Town of Superior. Considering the rapid growth of populations across Colorado and the explosion of trail usage, Coyote Ridge will be enhanced for expanded recreation, attracting hikers, bikers, wildlife enthusiasts and include a system of sustainably managed stacked loop trails that offer a variety of uses.
A Resilient Future
We relish the opportunity to create designs that enhance both human and environmental aspects of the ecosystem while providing a powerful catalyst for sustainable, interactive collaboration and engagement. Our work always looks for ways to integrate recreational improvements and opportunities with functional ecosystem restoration. The informal and natural elements of the property can be restored, preserved, and connected. Wildfire mitigation and management will be considered. Deer and birds currently inhabit this magical urban/wildlands interface. We imagine identifying areas to enhance the steppe ecosystem, accommodating wildlife migration patterns and creating moments where people can respectfully observe nature from a distance.
